Phase one of the Heritage Academy Sensory & Therapeutic Garden is officially complete.
This incredible new space, designed specifically for our students facing language and learning challenges, is well on its way to becoming an integral part of their education and mental health support.
Our Community Planting Day was truly electric.
We saw enthusiastic kids and volunteer parents jumping in with their shovels. Expert native plant volunteers getting their hands dirty, planting and teaching everybody how to nurture the new growth.
Our Principal in boots, digging right alongside the kids with a huge smile!
A huge thank you to everyone who showed up and got their hands dirty! The energy and community spirit were overwhelming. We couldn't have done this without the support and presence of our valued partners.
Please join us in thanking:
Mathnasium https://www.mathnasium.ca/carlington for their wonderful collaboration and shared commitment to student success.
Councilor Jeff Leiper for taking the time to attend and show his support for community-based health initiatives.
Aaron Hirota www.architecture49.com for providing invaluable architectural guidance for the garden’s future accessibility.
Native plant guidance and plant donation from Lynne Patenaude. We couldn't not have done it without you.
Also support and plants from Nora Lee.
Plant donations from Sundaura Alford-Purvis and Erin Kelly.
The community spirit is fueling us, but the construction phase requires more support!
What's Next?
Keep following along as we move into the final construction phase (accessible paths and therapeutic equipment). Your ongoing support is essential!
