HASC Club

Heritage Academy Student Committee meets during lunches for all interested students.

Heritage Academy Student Committee Mission Statement: Our mission is to build responsible leaders within our school community, increase student participation and school spirit through many student-run activities and events.

 

Examples of our Fundraising Activities and Events Include:

  • Spirit Days and Spirit Weeks, such as Crazy Hair Day and Pajama Day

  • Costume Contests

  • School Dances

  • Prom

  • Candy-Grams

  • Carnival

  • Movie Nights

  • WE Day + WE Fundraisers

 

What does our Student Council fundraise for?:

We are dedicated to raising money every year for our high school graduates as well as for various other organizations within our global community.

Ski & Snowboard

 

Club

On hold due to Covid

The Heritage Academy Ski & Snowboard Club is held on Thursdays beginning in January for students in Grade 8-12.

The students are accompanied by teachers , and will travel to and from Ski Camp Fortune by bus.

Students will return to the school between 9:30 pm and 10:00 pm. 

Note: There is no Ski Club during the week of Final Exams 

 

Helmets are mandatory for all students.

 

All students that have not met a sufficient level of skiing/snowboarding competency will be required to take a minimum of 4 lessons.

Jiu Jitsu

Heritage Academy will be continuing our Japanese Jiu Jistu program again this year with Mr. Mike Lance who is a first degree black belt, a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and certified Sensei. We have had a very successful program and are looking forward to continuing our progress this year.

 

When: Monday's and Wednesday's from 4:15- 5:15pm

 

First-time Student ($ 880.00):

 ($880)- $400 (first 3 months Nov-Jan) + $480 (last 5 months Feb-June)

 

 

Returning Student:

  • Option 1: ($720) (Payment in full) 

 

 

  • Option 2: ($760) (Payment of $95/month)

 

* Belt Testing: There is a fee of $125.00 that covers the next three belt testing's (yellow, orange and green). You will be notified for these tests two weeks in advance.

Monster Club

S.T.E.A.M/K'Nex Club

On hold due to covid

The STEAM club is held during lunch for all interested students.

This club focuses on providing our students with opportunities to engage in a variety of activities built from the STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts and Math) framework. Students will be engaging in such activities as:

  • Mouse Trap Catapults

  • Bottle Rockets

  • Programming using Scratch

  • Model Rockets

  • Pasta Bridges

Garden Club

On hold due to Covid

The Garden Club is held during lunch for all interested students during the fall and spring months. 

The Garden Club focuses on giving our students the opportunity to work in our on campus gardens and learn about plants, the importance of healthy eating and the value in knowing how to grow your own food.

Our Monster Club is held during lunch for all interested students in Grades 6 and up.

Our Monster Club is the most popular lunchtime club at Heritage Academy.  Each week this club meets and tests out their art skills with monster drawings and recreations; they touch up on their monster basics with a new monster history; and at least once a month they get together after hours to watch a monster film while gobbling up monster treats!
