Dear parents/guardians,
As the seasons change and the cold weather approaches, please be sure to send your students to school with the following appropriate outerwear:
Coat/Jacket - All students in grades 1-8 must wear a coat if it is less than 10 degrees Celsius outside. If the temperature is above 10 degrees, they are permitted to wear a sweater only.
Mittens/Gloves
Scarf/Neck Warmer
Snow Pants - Grade 1-6 students must have snow pants if they want to play in the snow. Grade 7-8 students are exempt from this rule but if they are not wearing snow pants they are NOT permitted to play in the snow.
Splash Pants
Additionally, please note the following requirements for footwear - each student must have the following:
An Indoor Pair of Shoes - Each student requires one pair of indoor shoes that are never to be worn outside. These shoes can be used for indoor gym classes but cannot have black soles.
An Outdoor Pair of Shoes -. Each student requires one pair of outdoor shoes that is weather/season appropriate. These are never to be worn inside.
An Athletic Pair of Shoes – This is a note for students enrolled in gym only. Each student requires a pair of athletic shoes/sneakers that can be worn outside for gym class. May we suggest that this outdoor pair be the same pair they use for outdoor break times (recess). Please note that when the snow arrives, gym class will primarily be held indoors.
We advise that all items of clothing and footwear be labelled with your child’s initials or full name.
