This February, our classes recognized Black History Month by learning about its purpose: to acknowledge past injustices, celebrate progress, and honor the achievements and resilience of Black communities in Canada and around the world.
Students researched influential individuals, scientists, physicists, and mathematicians, exploring how their innovation, leadership, and determination have shaped our society. Through meaningful discussions, we examined important facts deepening our understanding of both historical challenges and the strength of those who worked toward justice and freedom.
These conversations helped reinforce the commitment to maintaining classroom communities grounded in empathy, respect, and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
